Virginia Association of Health Occupations Students of America

The mission of the Virginia Association of Health Occupations Students of America is to provide opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development for students wishing to pursue a healthcare career.

The Twenty-Seventh State Leadership Conference was held in Richmond, Virginia

March 2-4, 2007.  The conference program included the VA HOSA annual delegate sessions, workshops, competitive events, a banquet buffet on Saturday, entertainment event on Saturday evening, awards session and slide presentations.  The conference took place at Sheraton Richmond West Virginia. 

Giles County Technology Center practical nursing and nursing assistant students participated in this conference.

Katie Cady took 1st place in the nursing skills portion of the competitive events with Tiffany Blankenship, and Kiva Widrig taking 4th and 5th place in the state of Virginia.

Team events were held with the following receiving 3rd place in the state of Virginia:

Health Education Team consisted of Tiffany Blankenship, Kiva Widrig, Sara Robbins and Jessica Comer.

We are very proud of the knowledge, maturity and responsibility demonstrated by these students.
